"A few useful finds, but not much that fit"
I found a handful of records, but I was mostly focused on the ones that clearly connected to my family. A lot of the military matches looked interesting at first, but once I checked the names and details, most of them weren’t really relevant.

Fold3.com has some really useful military records — I did find a few interesting things for my family, but the coverage feels kind of hit or miss. Some searches gave me good results, and then others had big gaps, which was frustrating.

"Good records, but the tools are messy"
Fold3 does have some records I just couldn’t find anywhere else, so I do appreciate that part. It’s definitely useful when you’re digging for military or family history stuff that doesn’t show up on other sites.

That said, the citation and source tools feel clunky and not very clear. I ended up having to double-check things myself because the saved source info was just messy sometimes, and the search can get annoying fast. For the price, I just expected the whole thing to feel smoother. Not useless, but definitely frustrating

"Ancestry connection was more confusing than I expected"
I signed up mainly because it was supposed to connect with Ancestry, but it’s been more of a hassle than a help. The whole process feels a bit clunky, and I kept wishing there were clearer instructions on what to do next. Some records don’t open properly, and I keep getting sent back to sign in again, which gets frustrating fast. For the extra cost, it just hasn’t felt worth it to me. I was hoping it would be a lot smoother.

"Helpful site, but the billing experience was frustrating"
The site itself was useful, but the billing side really left a bad taste. I thought I had canceled, then another charge showed up and I had to spend time digging around to figure out what happened. Support did eventually fix it, but it took way more back and forth than it should have. I was expecting at least a simple apology for the hassle. I’d consider using it again, but only if the billing and cancellation process were a lot clearer.

"Support came through, just took a bit!!"
I had a problem with my account and support did get back to me, but it definitely took longer than I was hoping. They ended up fixing it in the end though, so I’m glad it got sorted!!

"The site barely works most of the time"
I don’t expect everything to be perfect, but come on, the site should at least load properly. Half the time it’s painfully slow or just freezes, which makes it really frustrating to use. It feels like basic stuff that should be fixed for people trying to get things done...

"Downloading records feels more stressful than it should"
I tried saving some records and found the whole process frustrating. The options felt really limited, and a few of the steps were confusing enough that I kept second-guessing whether I was doing it right. I would’ve really appreciated clearer guidance or some reassurance along the way that the download was set up properly. As it is, it just felt like more hassle than it needed to be.

"Same records everywhere"
I really wanted to like Fold3, but it felt like every time I searched, I was just seeing the same records pop up again and again. So many things looked duplicated, and then when I actually opened files, some were missing pages or barely had anything useful in them.
It’s not completely worthless since I did manage to find a couple of things, but these sites always make you click around forever just to maybe get one decent result. For what they charge, I expected the records to be way more organized and complete

"I signed up hoping to dig..."
I signed up hoping to dig into some military records, but it was frustrating. A lot of the results just sent me in circles, the search felt clunky, and the date filters didn’t seem to work right. Some of the pages were so hard to read that I gave up on them.

What annoyed me the most was that it kept nudging me to pay again for things I thought were already included. It really wasn’t clear what I was actually getting with the subscription, which made the whole thing feel kind of misleading.

Canceling was a pain too. I had to dig around way more than I should have, and even after canceling I was still worried I might get charged again. I wouldn’t use it again

"Decent setup, but security feels a little light"
Getting my account set up with Fold3.com was smooth overall, so no real complaints there. I just kept wishing the privacy settings were easier to find and that there were more login security options, especially since you’re dealing with family records and personal details. Nothing bad happened, it just felt a bit basic. Weirdly, I remember there was this one screen that loaded super fast while everything else took a second, and for some reason that stuck with me.

"Blurry scans made it hard to justify the cost"
I’ll admit I’m probably a little picky when it comes to old military records because I’m usually looking for specific names and dates, but my experience with fold3 was frustrating. A lot of the images I opened were so blurry that I could barely make anything out, and zooming in just seemed to make the mess worse. Since it’s a paid site, I expected the scans to be clearer. For what I needed, it really wasn’t worth the money.

"Bottom line: I couldn’t really use it..."
Bottom line: I couldn’t really use it comfortably on my phone. The mobile site feels clunky, and simple things were harder to do than they should’ve been. I ended up getting frustrated quickly.

"Free trial didn’t really convince me"
I signed up for the free trial thinking it would be worth checking out, but I pretty much assumed within minutes that it wasn’t going to be for me. It felt a little misleading, so I canceled right away.

"Trying to find anything on Fold3.com was a..."
Trying to find anything on Fold3.com was a headache. The pages felt cluttered, and I kept clicking around in circles without getting anywhere. It’s just not very user-friendly, and I gave up quickly. Save your time unless you’re ready to be really patient.

"Pricing felt unclear and support kept sending me in circles"
I thought I understood what I’d be paying when I signed up, but then a few extra charges showed up afterward that I wasn’t expecting. When I tried to cancel, it wasn’t very straightforward either. I reached out to support and felt like I kept getting bounced around in the same loop without anyone really resolving it. Overall, the pricing should’ve been clearer from the start.

"Changing account settings shouldn’t be this hard"
I was just trying to manage my account, and somehow it turned into a whole ordeal. Nothing felt easy to find, and figuring out where to change or cancel things had me clicking around forever. At a certain point I was like, how is this okay? Maybe it’s fine if you already know exactly where everything is, but for me it was frustrating and not worth the hassle.

"My recent searches were a mess"
I really wanted to like Fold3.com, but my latest experience with it was frustrating. The indexing was all over the place, names spelled wrong, dates that didn’t line up, and searches completely missing records I could see when I manually went page by page. Maybe there’s good stuff on there, but after dealing with this recently, it’s hard not to judge the whole service by how much time I wasted. For the price, I expected it to make military research easier, not leave me cleaning up their mistakes.

"Feels like a missed opportunity"
I was hoping the new records would make the experience better, but they didn’t really add much for me. It kind of feels like I spent my time waiting for an update that didn’t pay off, and I hate feeling like I lost out on something that could’ve been useful.

"I’ve had a frustrating time with the search..."
I’ve had a frustrating time with the search feature because it doesn’t always find records that I’m sure are there. I don’t know if it’s an indexing issue or maybe the search is just being too picky with wording, but either way it makes it harder to trust the results.
